Learning from History: Making peace for the Next Generation
In August, a group of writers came together to work towards building peace in the world, calling themselves Japanese for Peace. With the coming of the anniversary of the dropping of the Atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the Allied forces (US forces), there was a call within the writers community to widen public awareness about the experiences of the victims of atomic warfare.
While there are friendly relations between countries as of today, we cannot hid the fact that deep-lying resentment still exists in people of the world. We believe that we have a strong responsibility to learn about the history to achieve true understanding and peace between people.
